In 1983, Kenichi Hirono joined Mitsubishi Estate. For more than 35 years, he worked at the front lines of urban development, area management, public-private collaboration, culture, and community. His practice is not only a record of achievement. It is a way of seeing where value will form next.

1983 Mitsubishi Estate

Entered the field.

Joined Mitsubishi Estate and began building practical knowledge in urban development and area management: how cities are planned, shaped, and moved.

East / West Marunouchi / Osaka

Built models across Japan's two urban centers.

Contributed to redevelopments in Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho, as well as Grand Front Osaka, helping form urban models that drew attention in Japan and abroad.

Public × Private Area Management

Made collaboration actionable.

Advanced urban revitalization, including the use of National Strategic Special Zones, and helped realize projects involving government, companies, communities, and specialists.

Culture Experiences

Brought culture into the everyday city.

Created opportunities for new urban experiences through initiatives such as Tokyo Millenario, open cafes, La Folle Journee, and Art Award Tokyo.

OCA TOKYO Knowledge Community

Built a place for knowledge to meet.

Helped launch and operate OCA TOKYO, a membership community where executives, entrepreneurs, researchers, and cultural leaders come together.

Next Generation Advisory / Education

Passes practice forward.

Today, he serves as an advisor to companies and organizations while collaborating with universities and research institutions to support next-generation leaders and address social challenges.
